So with my second year of university fast approaching i've been starting the process of getting ready again. For me the first year was like a test run or rehearsal if you like. I was able to get used to the new environment, people, teaching and of course the total independence in everything, from what to eat for dinner to revising for exams. Thinking back to my first year i realised how much i really loved my little room i had on campus. At first, on move in day, i told my parents it looked like a prison cell (i wasn't impressed at all) but after a bit of TLC it became my favourite place to be at uni (how sad right!?) No matter how stressed i was i could always jump into my little metal framed bed with a tub of ice cream and chill out. It hit me that i'll have a totally new room when i start again and none of my little comforts, so i'm on a mission to make whatever space i have my own!
This year i'm going to aim to have a lot less clutter in my room by utilising storage boxes and clever organisational devices, to me less clutter = a higher productivity level and i'm trying to set myself up for a successful year. Today i started on my organisation and headed to Muji, a cute little Japanese store i've heard about in London. I was looking for something that would keep my make up together, clean and easy to access as i found throwing it all in a make up bag wasn't the best!
I got a two drawer box, a pen pot for my brushes, some dividers (which turned out to be the wrong size) and a khaki mesh case for my nail polishes. I've linked them all incase you'd like to buy some :)

I love the clear acrylic, it's exactly the type of thing i'd have in my own house and it also makes it a lot easier to clean especially if i'm using it for make up! I also think that if i'm able to actually see my make up i'd be able to use a few more products and try out some new things!
All my make up fits quite well in the two drawers, i was honestly elated because my eyeliner stained make up bag could finally be binned!
|Sorry some of my make up is a bit grubby, i've been storing it so badly and i had to use a flash to show you the acrylic properly.|
I'm really impressed with the mesh bag, it's so strong and very good quality and keeps all my polishes tidy and easy to access.
That was all for the storage bits. It all came to around £19 which i think is decent! I think i may be returning to get another box for my jewellery closer to my move in day. If you are off to uni soon or just looking for storage i'd recommend looking at Muji, it's such a cool shop!
Starting a new year at university is also making me think about new things i'd like to try/goals i'd like to achieve. One i've been determined to stick to is growing my nails. I've been biting them for as long as i remember, more recently when i'm nervous and i really want to stop. They won't be extremely long but they can be better than this! My first task was to purchase a good quality nail file. I found this in Superdrug for £2.99. I'll be keeping them painted, filed and looked after and i'll see what happens. So if anyone has any growth tips please help me out!

Another desire i have is to get back into reading. I really enjoyed reading when i was younger but fell off the wagon a bit. I've picked these up from the garage and charity shop and i'm attempting to read them atm. The Famished Road and The Secret are freaking me out a bit though they're making me think a bit too much so i may stick to Kane & Abel for now.
And lastly, look who's back!!! If you guys remember my mum bought me this bottle some weeks ago and after 10 days a crack appeared and i tried to fix it by setting it on fire and melting it :') Needless to say it ended up in the bin but after much begging my mum agreed to buy me a new one! I'm not using it until university though as i want it to decorate my room, hopefully nothing happens to it this time!

So as uni approaches i'll just start de-cluttering and packing. I don't actually know when i'm going back but i have a few ideas of posts to do when i'm back there like a room tour, tips etc. I'm going to research tripods so i can continue the OOTD's, if you guys know of a good place to get (reasonably priced) tripods please let me know because i'm clueless! I'm really looking forward to what i know will be a very challenging but rewarding year. If you managed to read this whole post, i have to show you some love, thank you!
Until next time x
